New Years.

I've had a lovely Christmas spent gorging in my new jammies, christmas jumper and zebra socks! It wasn't a white Christmas like the two previous ones and it did make me a little sad but Christmas food and TV soon took my mind off things. My sister couldn't make it this year because of work but we skyped her from the dinner table. She was very very drunk which was very entertaining!

I've been thinking about New Years and I think I might actually make some resolutions for once. After a financially draining few months the first one is to find a job ASAP. Hopefully a nice enjoyable one but I can't really be picky... Secondly is to try and deal with confrontation better, I get properly angry/upset about something or someone I tend to sort of shut down and try and ignore the situation which really does not help things. Thirdly is to really buckle down with Uni work, although this one will probably be the most difficult one to keep as I am a serial procrastinator! Here's hoping I keep to them!

On the first night I got home it snowed!
Had some proper catch up with a few friends today and I think tomorrow I'll be starting a proper plan with card making/uni work/ house hunting and I still need to buy Christmas presents.... I think for once in my life I need to organise myself a bit!
In the mean time after being so over joyed to be reunited with my dog - I made a doggy treasury list below! I'm pretty happy with it...

A Christmassy post

I'm going home in the very very early morn of tomorrow so I thought seeing as I like to talk about myself and that I LOVE christmas time  that I should make a purely Christmassy post.

It's pretty much just a list of Christmas memories and stuff, it was nice to relive them...

A few years back my mum and dad decided that we weren't going to go to my aunts house for Christmas. At the time I was horrified at the thought but now, especially since 3 of us have moved out now i love it. Grama and Grampa still come down for lunch though but G-Ma and G-Pa are the best so that's ok.

One of the main reasons I'm so excited to go home for Christmas is to see my dog. I love her so MUCH! here's a picture of her on Christmas day by the fire place. Her name's Tattie.

The day I wake up at about 4 am on Christmas day and don't see a stocking will be a sad, sad day.

We had a white Christmas when my Australian cousins were over. It was the first time they had seen snow in real life.

One year Grama and Grampa got me and my sister rape alarms for Christmas.

The best thing about Christmas is CHRISTMAS SANDWICHES!!!!!! Not using every single ingredient available is cheating.

Every boxing day we go to our neighbours house and have a pyjama party and eat all each others left overs!

And finally and actually rather boringly...

If I could ask for anything this Christmas it would be those really expensive ink felt tip pen things. A big packet with loads of colours.
And an electric whisk.

Christmas Day 2010

I would love to hear anyone else's Christmas memories/facts!

Big Love

Greg Walrus

I am locked out of my house. Thank god I have friends who live down the road.

But in other more positive news, after eating my weight in oreos/sensations/the best sausage roll I have ever tasted. I am no longer "on vacation" as my Etsy shop used to suggest.

So click here! to buy some last minute Christmas Cards if you like!
These ones below are pretty cool too!

P.s I may have just posted this just so that I could use the title "Greg Walrus." God I love Masterchef

Michelle MOO Jr.

Sitting in Cornwall, slightly tipsy on Marks and Spencer port testers and wine. I'm also extremely, extremely full AND I've just been offered more food. Life is good. Life is good.
I've never been down to Truro during Christmassy time and its awesome. The first night I was down I saw a Great Dane dressed up as a princess and a giant cabbage. (pictures soon!)
They've moved the art shop and it's so nice. It has a giant paper fish in the middle and I bought this paper cow figurine thing and I painted it rather childishly (although it is the most fun way to do things) then my boyfriend made it a chefs hat and my little blue cow (with purple hearts) has now been dubbed Michelle Moo Jr. I also finally bought a pretty, sparkly bow from Vickys shopMatin Lapin which I have been planning to wear on Christmas Day ever since I saw them!
It's going to be a busy week what with travelling/moving all my stuff out of my house/uni/carol services and then travelling some more. But then I'll be back home and hopefully there'll be some snow too! (please, please, please!)

Big love, Pictures soon and hopefully a new listing too!

Big Pimpin'

Oh few readers,

I don't have much to blog about, I'm going to focus a bit more on uni over Christmas. I finally have a plan on what I'm going to do on my dissertation. Well I have a broad idea, it's going to be on the philosophy of sex. Which I think will be really interesting. I have a few books I need to read. I do have another card I'm going to put up actually, but i'll do it within the next couple of days.

Check out my cousins blog, he takes cool pictures and makes you feel jealous of all the trips he goes on. Here it is!

Ramachandran can feck off...

One essay and a couple of sales later I can get back to doing a bit of drawing! It'll mainly be re-listing but the plan is to have them up for tomorrow!
It's been a good week or so though and for these reasons...
 1. I got an Advent calender!!  I will never get too old for them, (I'm 21!) one  guaranteed chocolaty treat a day for nearly a month YES!
 2. Going to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland: Singing Mouse, slides, rides and Carousel bars!
 3. Going to see the tennis. Me and my sister started right at the top, literally it scared me how high up we were but a lovely steward told me that we could get our seats changed to a much better place for free! We did and we were so close to the front it was brilliant!
I'm going to shut up and  make some cards now...

Vege De Lite

There hath been a lack of card making for the past few days due to eating lasagne and being crap at card games at Vicky's house (<-- She's selling pretty bows at the moment and I DEMAND that you all buy them! ... Except the red and white one, I want that one.)
Yesterday was spent in Halcyon Books trying to find a book on dogs because I'm going to make a dog poster, you see (I eventually found one on their website). I didn't find one but I did find a cool WWF book with loads of animal pictures in it so no doubt they'll be on some form of card type thing soon. Then I went to Choir which is always nice, we're practising carols for a service in Greenwich and for someone who's not particularly religious I bloody love singing carols.
And now here I sit in uni, writing silly and slightly pointless blog posts to pass the time til my next class.
I have no pictures but here's a nice song by Kermit the frog and Brett from Flight of the Conchords:

The Kent files part II (Etsy shop gets jazzed up)

Running away to Kent for a few days was definitely a good idea. Had a big ol' girly chat with my cousin (I also  used her camera to take the photos, Thanks cuz!) And baked a couple of Oreo based delights with my other cousin. My aunts kitchen was so good for pictures that I retook all the pictures for my listings! It looks far, far nicer and since changing them all yesterday, I've actually had people like my shop, rather than just items. The only thing now is trying to find an equally great place to take pictures in my own house because I can't just pop down to take some pictures when I want to list an item. But i'll think of something, at least now I actually have an idea of the sort of photographs I want.
Seal Christmas Card  (part of a pack)

Zebra Christmas Card (part of a pack)

Pelican Christmas Card (part of a pack)

Puppy Christmas Card (part of a pack)
It's been quite a good time for sales, My sister bought a few off me, which was really nice and yesterday the first person who I don't know  bought my Giraffe card! That had been my first goal (I know I don't exactly dream big!), to have at least one person (who doesn't know me) stumble along the shop and buy a card. Now I wonder what my new goal should be? Hmmmmm
So yes, a good time all around. Now I'm back it's time for a nice day out in Central London looking for art supplies and having Lasagne with bf's sister. Yumyumyumyum...

The Kent files part I

I've been having a very relaxing couples of days crashing at my aunts in Kent. I think I should come down more often to take pictures of the cards because it's nice and bright and good for pictures.
As you can see, I've been working on some thank you cards, which you can buy as a four pack here!
I'm going to dander in to town and then make some more Chritmassy ones when I get back, hopefully they'll be up tomorrow.
I have one issue with kent... Well Tunbridge Wells in particular... WHY WERE YOUR CHRISTMAS LIGHTS BEING TURNED ON INSIDE?!? It doesn't make any sense! Needless to say we left soon after.

Advice TAKEN I

So I was saying yesterday how Caroline at Love Sweet Caroline had given me some tips on card making, I'm a tad broke so I can only really take one tip at a time. One of the things she suggested was to try using more textured card stock, so today I went to my local arts supplies shop and tried out some water colour paper (at least I think it is?! Either way its textured!) that can be folded into a nice wee card.
I only got a few sheets and the pictures above are little tester cards and I really, really like them! So much that I'm going to buy some more tomorrow!

SEALED the deal

Made my first Etsy sale today! Yes it was off someone I know but I didn't actually tell her that I had one so I reckon it still counts! That was nice to come home too after a ramen run.

Had a great catch up with a friend of mine who's moved to Orleons, France. It had been far. Too. Long. Orleons isn't far from Paris so a trip to DISNEYLAND!!!! is definitely imminent. I showed her the buns I've been baking, which i've put up today... They may not be the prettiest buns but good GOD they're tasty!
They're just chocolate buns with a chocolate fudge topping, except one has an Oreo at the bottom and one has a Jaffa cake.

In other news, I got some really handy advice from Caroline at Love Sweet Caroline on Etsy. I'm itching to use the advice she's given me, but I'm going to have to wait till I can get some money first, ah well...

Free pants! (FOR SALE IV)

Today was a nice day. Spent the night in a Kigu again, had Oreos for breakfast. Then we went into Shorditch  to see the bfs aunties stall which has such cool things; pillows and bags and cards and stuff and when we left to go get a bagel, someone handed me a flyer for a free pair of pants! Brilliant! If there's anything that's always going to come in handy, its a free pair of pants. Especially when it's nearly time for laundry day! They're purple and frilly and have bows one them, which always goes down well with me! They came from a shop called " The fairy goth mother" and is worth a look if you're into sexy burlesque/goth-y type things. Now after tidying my room and eating my ramen noodles for dinner I'm feeling pretty nice!

I also put these two new listings up today:

FOR SALE III

                                                                     Cow Xmas Card

I put these two up yesterday... or maybe it was the day before but either way they're up on Etsy. The seal really reminds me of my Dad, so I've called him Clive... which he may be slightly offended by but I like to name literally everything! (Seriously, my ipod touch is named Susan)

Today has been pretty uneventful, did a bit of drawing a bit of baking (not very well though- sometimes you have to learn the hard way that Magic stars don't really work with buns.. cupcakes WHATEVER). It aint all bad though... because my boyfriend has loaned me his fox Kigu for the night, I 'm wearing it as I type and I wont lie. I feel bloody adorable.

The plan is just to keep drawing really, the more I draw I think the better the cards turn out I think, I much prefer these last few cards to some of the ones I  originally put up so I'm hoping that the more I draw the more I can improve.

I want to try and get some Cow ones up tomorrow, so I'll start working on them tonight. Also I finally changed the name! I always hated the old one, much prefer Animal Cafe!

I don't really have much other news... apart from that I'm addicted to ramen noodles at the moment today I went a bit crazy and added some peas and bok choy today and it was damned tasty! There you are, the crazy life of a London Student!

So Go look! or heck buy if you want!

FROGS WITH BOOBS

One day I am going to actually make these into cards, but I feel like the world doesn't want me too at the moment, what with me loosing my good pens and pencils, and my rubber too. I haven't lost my ink/paint yet but I wouldn't be surprised if I did.  But today i figured I should stop being cranky about it and at the very least do a bit of drawing hence these wrong way around drawings today. Of course they all need to be greatly improved upon but I like the general ideas and even though the frog does look like it has a massive left boob. I kinda like that too. These drawings are based on pictures of a David Attenborough book that I got for a quid in Greenwich. Except for the moose one actually, that's from a book that's all about Moose (Mooses? Moose's... I think its Moose ANYWAY), this Moose in particular always ends up looking pretty apologetic so I'm going to use him for some sorry cards I think.  The bird is one at the top is of my favourites, the first time I saw it I automatically assumed that it was hitting on me. Saucy Minx. Pretty happy with the one at the bottom too. I did this for my boyfriends dad's birthday (excuse the flash- I didn't take this picture! but it's all I have!) and I'm pretty happy with it.

Any way if my next post doesn't involve me talking about how I've put up new stuff for sale then all 8 of you (woo!) can slap me.

LISTEN!

New Job means lack of posting and even drawing! It's been pretty tiring but it's good to be working again, although I did stupidly manage to be late on my first day!

Last Saturday I went up to Edinburgh to see my mum and my sister where I finally got to try Yo! Sushi! It was good but there used to be a sushi place in Greenwich that was much better... That said it got shut down because they had rats... but anyway it was lovely to catch up with them and Edinburgh's one of my favourite cities so it's always nice to go up. We then went  down to Newcastle to see my brother for the day which was nice too, my brother was very happy because I was staying with one of my best friends who happens to be very beautiful and so it was an excuse for him to try (and fail) to get in her pants. One of the reasons why Newcastle is so brilliant is because out pub quiz team WON A KEG! A whole fecking keg! It was a shame I had to leave the next day but I made the most of it whilst I could.

So it's been a busy week hence the lack of drawings and also photos in this post, the plan is to actually get some cards up for sale with in the next couple of days... Here's hoping!

Typing with a broken key board is annoying.

Some more Christmas ideas, I like them but I think they could just be better in general. I can never get backgrounds right, I'm never sure if i even want one but I'm going to ask photography housemate for some tips because it turns out she's bloody good at painting too. The plan is to have them up for sale by the beginning of November.

In other news, today I dressed up in slightly slutty clothes, put on LOADS of fake tan, make up, hair extensions, a pair of massive heels and posed semi provocatively around  central London. It was all for photography housemates project and was actually kind of fun but I did spend the day shouting "I SWEAR I DON'T USUALLY DRESS LIKE THIS!!!!" A few of the pictures ended up looking surprisingly all right.

Like these but better...

I'm not entirely sure if my Elephant and Giraffe look like they're have Santa beards or if they look like they have rabies. I plan on turning other animals in to St. Nick, but this time more sea life than wild life.

In other news I found a brilliant new dress for £13 quid a couple of days ago in Deptford, which is close to where I live. it's from this little vintage shop called Rag n Bone which has a mixture of bargains and some random expensive stuff too. Speaking of expensive, the lady at the till nearly charged my 12 grand for it but luckily I noticed something wasn't right with the numbers before I pressed enter. And so I bequeath wisdom upon you, my six followers (thank-you!) and any one else who may be randomly reading , go check out those shops near by, even if you live some where slightly gross ( I love you really sef landan )you may find a little gem or two.

Animal Cafe

Now that the weather hasn't been absolutely
glorious, I've actually been doing some drawing! I quite like them but i don't quite think they'd be good Christmas cards as such, as Angels don't necessarily mean Christmas... they're always about aren't they? But over all I am pretty happy with them. All the animals I've drawn are from this really awesome, massive book, simply called "Africa" that my boyfriend owns, he has a knack for finding cool books for cheaps.

Personally, I'm pretty glad it's not ridiculously hot anymore, firstly, because I don't fare well in hot weather (thanks Dad) and secondly it just wasn't RIGHT! It was bloody October! I bought all those winter clothes for nothing, but now I have some use for them!

In the nice weather though, I went Boris Biking with my sister and neighbour from back home (now studying in London) in Hyde Park which was SO MUCH FUN all though you tend to cycle in fear of not getting your bike back on time and getting charged £150.
Any way that is all, if anyone is actually reading this I demand honest opinions!
